The biggest challenge on a VW engine is selecting the appropriate  cylinder head for the intended use of the car. Port flow, port velocity,  and cooling capability all come into play when selecting the correct  cylinder head. With Pat’s knowledge of port design, he can help  customers make the correct decision on the appropriate cylinder head for  their engine. 

We use only the best equipment at PDP from our Sunnen VGS-20 seat and guide machine to our Superflow-600 flow bench.

  • 88mm thick wall (TW) Type 1 pistons and cylinders.  This thick wall kit has a 4.9mm cylinder wall which is 0.5mm thicker  then the standard 85.5 kit, giving it maximum strength and and excellent  heat dissipation. The kit requires some machining on the cylinder head  side. Fits 85.5mm case and 90.5/92mm bore heads. 
  •  94mm VW air-cooled Typ

The long skinny ones are Dragsters, if you sit in the middle of a car it’s called an  Altered, and if you set in the left side and you’re out in the open it’s  called a Roadster. While they do build all of these types of cars along  with mini rod tractor pullers, their core business is cars that look  like regular cars. They take a fiberglass or carbon fiber body that is  just the shell of car and they place it on a jig. Once they get the  right distance off the ground they build the rest of the car. You can  get almost any kind of shell that you want. They have all kinds of cars  in the shop on a regular basis, including: 1963 Avanti, a 2020 Mustang, a  1969 Camaro, 1970 Mustang and others. The prices of some of these  things are astronomical if you’re not used to engines costing eighty  thousand dollars or more! Dan stated the shell of the 2020 mustang was  made from carbon fiber and cost almost fourteen thousand dollars and the  car would be north of a $150,000.00 by the time it goes down the track.
